The Moon
Cake Celebration in Kudat parish
On 2nd
October, the faithful from the three churches in kudat parish, namely, St.Peter’s
church, Kudat, Our Lady Immaculate Church, Taipa and Sacred Heart’s church, Tajau gathered at the basket ball court
of Sacred Heart Church, Tajau to celebrate the Moon Cake Festival.
Among the
programs that night, were solving the lantern puzzles, cutting of moon cakes, cala ok singing and partake of refreshments.
Fr. Thomas
Yip in his welcome speech stressed ; besides celebrating the traditional feast, he hoped this activity would increase the
relationship among the parishioners and that they will be more united and serve
the church and God more fervently as one people. He ended his speech by urging the parishioners to be regular in attending
church, So that they will be constantly reminded that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of mankind, and thus they will be closer
to God.
That evening
ended around eleven o’ clock.
