A Vision in Kudat
I was on my way home when the minibus driver stopped at an open field near Sikuati, to show us the solitary coconut tree where
Our Lady holding baby Jesus appeared these past few days since
13th July 2007. He told us that the image appears everyday since then at around five in the evening attracting
hundreds and thousands of onlookers from everywhere .
So yesterday, we went to that spot to witness this strange event.
On arrival, there was already a huge crowd at four, taking photos , using telescope,
to spot the appearance.
I saw that coconut tree from far, just an ordinary coconut
tree under the still hot sun.
Then I saw a cross like vision up there, which appeared very
clear in one photo taken by a bystander. I thought I saw the image
too a few occasions.
The crowd got very excited, and went nearer the coconut tree to have a clearer
view. Three men even climbed up the tree and shook a few coconuts down.
Then around five, an exclamation from the crowd made me look
up in time to see two palms
of the coconut tree opened sideway slowly , like you hide your face behind
your hands then move both hands slowly to disclose your face. No,
not the wind, definitely. Yes, I saw the vision too.
I will go again this evening, yes, I like the cordial atmosphere,the
mingling and chatting with people around you, seeing
a long queue of vehicles as Kudat suddenly comes to life and becomes the centre
of focus in Sabah.
