A Recollection
A recollection, one as simple as this one we attended, nearer home,
half a day, does as much good
to the soul as longer ones.
I remember those retreats I attended, usually held in Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre, involved CWL members from
all over Sabah
and lasted for few days, such retreats were more grand
in a way; new place, new faces.
Our recollection on 21st
March, 2009, organized by us , members of
the Region of Mary, is, comparatively more relaxing. We started it off by singing hymns which we practised the other
day at a Region of Mary’s meeting. Then Fr. Yip read Pope Benedict’s last year’s Lenten message in Chinese, as
it relates a lot to the readings of the day.
After the readings, Fr. Yip prompted us to reflect on our faith,
in his talk . Are we giving
all our time to God, or just one day a week ? Do we do justice to Christ’s
sacrifice o the cross? Think of Christ's fresh and blood
He spilt on the way to Mount Calvary. How do we rebuild our Jerusalem? What spare parts from God to replace our worn out ones. These were among
the foods for thoughts, Fr. Yip
pumped into our hearts. After the talk,
came the time for silence and meditations.
After tea break, we entered
the church for more hymns and adoration of the Sacrament. Again, we meditated
in silence and finished off
the day with Stations of the Cross.
It was very hot when we took group
photo outside the church.
After lunch,we went home
feeling blessed.
